Keston Bledman was a comfortable winner of the men's 60 metres dash at the Millrose Games, in New York, USA, late on Saturday.

Competing in an indoor race for the first time in his career, the Trinidad and Tobago sprinter got to the line in 6.62 seconds to finish well ahead of Canadian Sam Effah, the runner-up in 6.69. American Reggie Dixon clocked 6.70 to cop third spot.

Bledman's 55m split was 6.18 seconds.

Another T&T athlete, Aleesha Barber finished seventh in the women's 60m hurdles in 8.33 seconds.

At the Valentine Invitational, in Boston, Jamaal James bagged bronze in the men's 800m in one minute, 47.66 seconds--an indoor best for the 23-year-old T&T half-miler and his fastest time in five years, indoors or outdoors. James' clocking was just two-hundredths of a second outside the 1:47.64 national indoor record, established by Sherridan Kirk back in 2005.

James is expected to wear T&T colours at the March 9-11 World Indoor Championships, in Istanbul, Turkey. His 1:47.66 run is well inside the 1:48.00 World Indoors qualifying standard.

At the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) Big Meet, in Michigan, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee sophomore Durell Busby clocked a personal best 7.80 seconds to secure gold in the men's 60m hurdles. The time is a new school record.

Washington State University quarter-miler, Shawna Fermin picked up silver in the women's 400m, at the Husky Classic, in Washington. Fermin got home in 55.11 seconds.

Lalonde Gordon finished third in section one and 10th overall in the men's invitational 400m event, at the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games, in New York, on Friday. The T&T athlete got home in 49.71 seconds--more than three seconds slower than the 46.43 indoor best he had clocked on January 21 to lead the world. Gordon is currently 13th on the 2012 IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) indoor 400m global list. He is second on the 200m list at 20.58 seconds.

At the Valentine Invitational, in Tennessee, Middle Tennessee State University student Kendall Bacchus was ninth in the men's 200m in 22.90 seconds.

Wichita State University athlete, Scarla Nero returned a time of 17 minutes, 12.72 seconds to cop 10th spot in the women's 5,000m, at the SPIRE Division I Invite, in Ohio. Her teammate, Samantha Shukla was 11th in the women's 1,000m in 2:57.53. In the mile, Nero (5:03.32) and Shukla (5:04.35) were 20th and 22nd, respectively.
