Ahye wins in Texas

Michelle-Lee Ahye was the class of the women's 100 metres field, at the Bobby Lane Invitational, in Texas, USA, on Saturday.

The 19-year-old Trinidad and Tobago sprinter captured the title with a wind-assisted 11.41 seconds run. Ahye also competed in the women's 200m, clocking 24.35 seconds to finish first in section 10 and seventh overall.

Abilene Christian University student Osei Alleyne-Forte was 12th in the men's 400m in 48.92.

At the Georgia Relays, University of Georgia field athlete Hilenn James struck gold in the women's discus with a 54.97 metres throw.

Deon Lendore clocked 46.20 seconds–a new personal best–to seize silver in the men's 400m, at the Trojan Invitational, in California.

Lendore's Texas A&M University teammate, Wayne Davis II picked up silver in the men's 110m hurdles in 13.93 seconds.

In the men's 100m dash, Davis was seventh in a wind-aided 10.83.

And in the women's 200m, Washington State University student Shawna Fermin got to the line in 24.06 seconds to cop eighth spot.

At the Alex Francis Classic, in Kansas, Devery Robley bagged bronze in the men's 400m in 51.45 seconds.

In the men's 800m, the Butler Community College athlete returned a time of one minute, 58.26 seconds to finish eighth.

Emmanuel Stewart copped fourth spot in the men's discus, at the Florida State University (FSU) Relays. The Morgan State University student's best throw was 51.85m. Stewart was ninth in the men's shot put with a 13.27m effort.

Another Morgan State/T&T athlete, Jeanelle Ovid, cleared the bar at 1.58m for ninth spot in the women's high jump.

At the Penn Big 5 Meet, in Pennsylvania, Temple University's Kiersten LaRoche finished seventh in the women's shot put (9.71m), 10th in the 100m hurdles (16.91 seconds) and 12th in the long jump (4.75m).

And University of Maryland student, Shawn David clocked 49.98 seconds to finish first in section three and 11th overall in the men's 400m, at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Invitational.
