Creed to deliver address at the Cougars awards

Trinidad Guardian :: 11.12.2013

The Cougars Track and Field Club will be hosting its fourth Christmas Dinner and Awards Celebration at the VIP Room, Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, today, from 7 pm.

Cougars have been the juvenile champion club in T&T for the past three years, and will no doubt be named champion at the NAAA awards on January 4 at the Capital Plaza.

Anthony Creed, executive manager-sports development & performance unit of the SPORTT, has been asked to give the feature address.

Ashton Gill is expected to walk away with the feature awards of Male Athlete of the Year, while there is a fight between Under 15 champions Kershel McIntyre and U18 champion Thyla Maree-Scott for the coveted title of Female Athlete of the Year.

Elijah John is expected to run away with the Under 9 boys award, while Ethan Forde and Jaden St Louis are heavily favoured to do the trick in the U13 and U15 categories.

In the girls department, it is a toss up for the Under 9 crown between Kianna Llewlyn and Makeda Edwards.

In the U11 category national champion Shaniqua Bascombe looks a cert as do Joanna Roger in the U14 age group. Kershel McIntyre is a certainty to win the Under 15 Girls and Thyla Maree Scott looks set to win her first major award as U18 Champion.

Kelvin Nancoo will go through the year in review of the club.
