Lalonde leads T&T team to Poland

Double Olympic bronze medalist Lalonde Gordon will lead a team of seven to the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) World Indoor Championships in Sport, Poland from March 7-9.

Gordon won bronze medals in the 400 metres and 4x400m events at the 2012 London Olympics. Gordon will have two of his 4x400m bronze medal teammates with him in Poland, as Ade Alleyne-Forte and Jarrin Solomon will make the trip. Other male athletes going to Poland are Jereem Richards and Emmanuel Mayers.

Two female athletes will compete in the 60m event, Geronne Black and Olympian Michelle-Lee Ahye. The team will be coached by Charles Joseph and managed by Paul Voisin.

Following the Indoor champs, top female distance runner Tonya Nero will participate in the IAAF World Half Marathon on March 29 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Nero will begin her preparations for the half marathon on Saturday when she competes at the NACAC Cross Country Championships in Mt Irvine, Tobago.
