Carifta trials this weekend

Newsday :: 11.03.2014

THE National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) will be conducting their Carifta Games trials this weekend at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, from 10am on both days.

These trials will be used to select the national Junior teams that will be representing this country at the 43rd Carifta Games to be held in Martinique from April 19-21 at the Pierre Aliker Municipal Stadium, Fort de France.

This year for the first time, the athletes will be competing at the Under 18 and Under 20 age groups, compared to Under 17 and Under 20 categories previously. This decision was taken at the NACAC congress at the last Carifta Games which is similar with the global competitions such as the World Youth (Under 18) and World Junior (Under 20).

The public is encouraged to come out and support the young athletes in their quest of representing the red, white and black.
