NAAA pay tribute to Grant

Newsday :: 31.03.2014

The executive of the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) on Saturday extended its deepest condolences to the family of the late Clinton Grant and the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation (TTCF).

Grant was reportedly training with budding cyclist Rosanna Abraham along the Audrey Jeffers Highway when a vehicle allegedly veered onto the shoulder and collided with the duo. The 42-year-old Grant was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he passed away. Abraham is still nursing injuries and is warded at the hospital.

“Grant’s untimely death is a loss for the entire sporting fraternity of Trinidad and Tobago. He fulfilled many roles including representing TT on an international level, coach, mentor and role model. His memory will continue to be a positive example for young citizens and athletes alike,” a NAAA media release stated.

The NAAA also expressed their support to the quest to make Trinidad and Tobago’s roadways safer for our athletes who use them on a daily basis for training and competing, by urging road users to observe and practice road safety.
