Nero 71st at World Half Marathon Champs

Tonya Nero finished 71st in the women’s race at the World Half Marathon Championships in Kobenhavn, Denmark, last Saturday. The Trinidad and Tobago athlete completed the 13.1-mile course in one hour, 18 minutes, 26 seconds.

The top five spots in the 90-woman field were secured by Kenyan runners, with the gold going to Gladys Cherono in 1:07:29.

Kenya also emerged victorious in the men’s race, Geoffrey Kipsang earning the top spot with a 59:08 clocking. Eritrea’s Samuel Tsegay and Ethiopia’s Guye Adola were second and third, respectively, both athletes crossing the line in 59:21.
