Gordon to run 400 hurdles at Falcon Games

Trinidad Express :: 11.04.2014

World 400 metres hurdles gold medallist in 2013, Jehue Gordon, is expected to be among the headline acts at the 2014 edition of the Falcon Games which will take place at the Hasely Crawford Stadium today and tomorrow.

Normally held in Tobago, the Games will be staged at the Hasely Crawford due to the unavailability of the Dwight Yorke Stadium.

Last weekend, Gordon took silver in the 800 metres at the Southern Games and was fifth in the 400 metres. But in his first 400 hurdlles event of the season, he will renew his battle with Puerto Rican Eric Alejandro a previous winner of this race at the Games. That event is scheduled for tomorrow.

The meet will also be a showcase for the country’s Carifta athletes before they leave for this year’s Carifta Games in Martinique.

The Games will be opened by Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, Orville London, at 3 p.m. today.
