Blenman wins Chancellor Challenge

Rashad Blenman of Guardian Group returned to win the third athletic event of CariFin Games, the Chancellor Challenge last week.

Blenman completed the course in 14 minutes 50.7 seconds as he overtook First Citizens’ John Donaldson (15.05.1) while Sagicor’s Jean-Marc De Boulet finished third in 15.35.3 .

It was the penultimate race of the CariFin Games four-race schedule, and after missing the second stage entitled the Green Mile, Bledman returned to impress on the Hill, late in the Chancellor Challenge to overtake Donaldson, who bolted out to a comfortable lead but failed to maintain it.

“Even though I was way behind, I know eventually with patience and execution I would pull it of,” Bledman said of his victory.

Deodath Harrikissoon of First Citizens and Lee Hay of CITI are unbeaten so far in this four-part athletic series. The duo would very much like to remain unbeaten. In the female walk race, Natasha David of Republic Bank enjoyed her second win of the series.

“My training has been harder this year. I expected more of a challenge but it was not there.” Harrikissoon said after the race.
