Sobers wins Tobago Cross Country

Kade Sobers emerged victorious in the men’s race at the THA/Tobago Cross Country meet, on Saturday, at the Mt Irvine Golf Course.

Sobers completed the eight-kilometre event in 31 minutes, 37 seconds, forcing his Falcons clubmate Lyndon Bacchus to settle for second spot in 33:57.

Joshua James was the class of the field in the boys’ under-20 6K race, the Cougars athlete getting home in 21:34.

Nyasha Waterman, of Cougars, triumphed in the girls’ under-20 6K, stopping the clock at 23:36.

Another Cougars athlete, Asim Atherton won the boys’ under-16 2K in 7:39.

In the girls’ under-16 2K, Zenith’s Silini Acosta clocked 9:16 to claim the top spot.
