Jereem Richards clocks 400 pb

British silver for jumper Che

Jereem Richards produced a fine run at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Relays in Louisiana, USA, on Friday. The University of Alabama student stopped the clock at a personal best 45.47 seconds for gold in the men's 400 metres event.

Another Trinidad and Tobago/Alabama athlete, Ruebin Walters seized silver in the men's 110m hurdles in a wind-assisted 13.52 seconds. In the 400m hurdles, Texas A&M University's Infinite Tucker was sixth in 52.77, with seventh spot going to Walters in 54.36.

Kayelle Clarke finished fifth in the women's 100m dash, the University of Kentucky sprinter getting to the line in 11.50 seconds.

In the 200m, Clarke was fifth in a wind-aided 23.39. Alabama's Domonique Williams clocked a windy 24.08 for second spot in the 200m "D" race. Shermund Allsop was 13th fastest in the men's 100m in a windy 10.49. And in the 200m, he was 13th overall in a windy 21.54.

In Bedford, England, yesterday, Che Richards earned silver in the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Outdoor Championship men's long jump with a windy 7.63 metres leap. The University of Edinburgh student jumped 7.52m in the qualifying round. Two weekends ago, at the Scottish University Championships, in Falkirk, Scotland, Richards was golden in the men's long jump at 7.22m. He also competed in the 200m, finishing ninth overall in 22.92 seconds.
