T&T end third on Carifta table

Trinidad Express :: 03.04.2018

Trinidad and Tobago's junior track and field athletes could not repeat their runners-up feat of last year as they finished third at this year's edition of the Flow Carifta Games in the Bahamas.

When the Games ended Sunday night, T&T finished with four gold medals, six silver and seven bronze for a total of 17 which left them well behind perennial champions Jamaica (82) and the hosts who collected 35 in total. T&T picked up golds from javelin throwers Tyriq Horsford, Veayon Joseph and Talena Murray to go with the one from sprinter Avindale Smith who won gold in the Boys Under-17 400m final following a disqualification.
