Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 08.04.2018

Michelle-Lee Ahye, Reyare Thomas and Khalifa St Fort face the starter at 7.50 this morning (T&T time) in the Commonwealth Games women's 100 metres final here in Gold Coast, Australia.

Ahye led the charge at the Carrara Stadium, yesterday, as all three Trinidad and Tobago sprinters progressed to the championship race. The US-based athlete cruised to victory in the second semifinal heat in 11.25 seconds, advancing with the third fastest time. "In a final, anything can happen," said Ahye, in an Express interview following her semifinal win. "It's anybody's race. But once I run my race and do what I have to do, I will win the 100."
