Deon Lendore is back!

Sidelined by injury for much of the 2017 season, Lendore has been battling to regain his best form. Back in March, he gave a glimpse of his undoubted pedigree with IAAF World Indoor Championship men's 400 metres bronze for Trinidad and Tobago. And on Saturday, in his first outdoor 400 this year, the 25-year-old quarter-miler clocked a fast 44.81 seconds for gold at the Star Athletics Sprint Series meet in Florida, USA.

Lendore outclassed his rivals in the Star Series one-lap race, Bahamian Alonzo Russell finishing a distant second in 45.28 seconds. The 44.81 run was Lendore's first sub-45 clocking in more than three years and the sixth of his career. His personal best is 44.36. Lendore also has a 44.41 to his name, with Saturday's 44.81 at third spot on his all-time career best list.
