Carlene Haynes-Griffith to be buried today

Carlene Haynes-Griffith, treasurer of the NAAA who died on Monday last, after a period of illness will be buried today following a funeral service at the Church of The Nazarene, Arima at 10 am. Her last rites will be performed at the D'Abadie Public Cemetery. 

Haynes-Griffith, 45, was a former Carifta Games athlete who represented T&T in 4 x 400m relay. She received an athletic scholarship from St John's University in New York, USA from where she graduated with a BSc in Accounting and an MBA in Finance. Her passion for Accounting would lead her to complete an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection.

In 2006, Haynes-Griffith was elected as the Treasurer of the NAAA and has served in that post for 12 years. During her tenure, the NAAA has been able to provide audited accounts every year. This is an unprecedented accomplishment for any National Sporting Organization in T&T.

Haynes -Griffith was employed at the Teacher's Credit Union where she was an Accountant where she stayed for the last six years. She leaves to mourn husband Stevenson, parents and children.
