Dexter Voisin as a career soldier would have served 29 years and 305 days, at the time of his compulsory retirement on October 29th, 2019, he held the position of  Regimental Sergeant Major at the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Headquarters.

Dexter is a well-known former middle and long-distance athlete during the period 1981-1997 and was a Carifta 5000m bronze medallist in Jamaica 1988. Former Head Coach of the TTDF Athletics Team and is the holder of an IAAF Level 5 Academy Chief Coach Certification. Coaches' education is an area that Dexter is passionate about. This has led to him studying and qualifying as an IAAF Level 2 CECS Lecturer. He has trained a total of over 200 coaches both locally and regionally in the World Athletics CECS Courses.

Dexter has held the position of Assistant Secretary of TTNAAA from 2004 to 2016 and General Secretary 2016 to present. During this period, He has served as Head Coach and Manager to both Junior and Senior National Teams, most memorable, the London 2012 Olympic Team.
