Khalifa St Fort repeated as Carifta Games Girls Under-20 100 metres champion at the Ergilio Hato Stadium here in Willemstad, Curacao, late yesterday. But she was made to work much harder than expected, the Trinidad and Tobago sprint star leaning at the line to snatch gold in 11.56 seconds, finishing just ahead of Jamaican Aneka Brissett, the silver medallist in 11.57. Grenadian Halle Hazzard (11.67) claimed bronze.

And T&T's Adell Colthrust grabbed Boys Under-18 100m gold in 10.63 seconds, forcing Bahamian Adrian Curry (10.64) and Jamaican Tyreke Wilson (10.69) to settle for the minor medals. T&T's Avindale Smith finished fifth in 10.77.

Jacob St Clair earned bronze in the Boys Under-20 400m event, the T&T quarter-miler completing his lap of the track in 47.02 seconds.

Jamaican Christopher Taylor established his supremacy early in the race. Jamal Walton of the Cayman Islands pursued the leader, and St Clair stayed in touch with Walton.
