Golden Gala bronze

Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 08.06.2017

Keshorn Walcott and Michelle-Lee Ahye both earned bronze medals at the Golden Gala IAAF Diamond League meet in Rome, Italy, yesterday.

Walcott threw an impressive 86.61 metres for third spot in a high-quality men's javelin competition, the Trinidad and Tobago athlete finishing behind Germans Thomas Rohler (90.06m) and Johannes Vetter (88.15m).

Walcott's 86.61m effort was a season's best, bettering the 84.16m produced by the 2012 Olympic champion in his 2017 opener in Vantaa, Finland, two Saturdays ago.
