Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 19.04.2019

Devin Augustine, Shaniqua Bascombe and Ayla Stanisclaus are expected to challenge for sprint honours on the opening day of the 2019 Carifta Games, at the Truman Bodden Complex here in George Town, Cayman Islands, today.

National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) president Ephraim Serrette told the Express he is eagerly anticipating the boys' under-17 100 metres dash. Trinidad and Tobago will have strong representation in the event, with both Augustine and Shakeem McKay in the hunt for precious metal. Among the sprinters hoping to prevent a T&T one-two finish is Jamaican Nkrumie Bouwajhie.
