AYODELE TAFFE was crowned sprint champion and Shurlun Williams captured two individual gold medals at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Games, in Jamaica, two weekends ago. Taffe was also golden in the men's 4x100 metres relay, anchoring St Augustine Campus to victory.

Taffe struck gold in the men's 100m dash, the Trinidad and Tobago athlete outsprinting Jamaicans Oshane Blake and Mazinho Barrett at the Usain Bolt Track, on UWI's Mona Campus. In a close contest, Taffe stopped the clock at 10.66 seconds to take top spot, just ahead of the Mona duo of Blake (10.67) and Barrett (10.68).
