Proud history - Cedenio happy to be part of largest-ever Pan Am haul

Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 11.08.2019

There was a sense of satisfaction for Machel Cedenio at the end of the Pan American Games men's 4x400 metres relay, here in Lima, Peru, on Saturday.

Cedenio had anchored Trinidad and Tobago to bronze in three minutes, 02.25 seconds. And while the goal was gold, the 23-year-old quartermiler was grateful that he had contributed to the country's largest-ever Pan Am Games medal haul of 13—two gold, eight silver, three bronze "That's history," a proud Cedenio declared. "Until the next group of guys get more medals than this, we'll go down in the history books. And even then, people will remember the 2019 Trinidad and Tobago Pan Am team. So, thank God for small mercies."
