The 17-year-old Bishop's High School Tobago student completed the course in 22 minutesLondon wins Tobago cross countryTrinidad Express :: 14.11.2011 Mark London emerged victorious in the open male six-kilometre race, in the Tobago leg of the NAAA Cross Country Series, at the Mount Irvine Bay Golf Course on Saturday. The 17-year-old Bishop's High School Tobago student completed the course in 22 minutes, nine seconds. Kade Sobers finished second, the unattached veteran runner getting home in 22:51, while third spot was copped by London's schoolmate, Stephon Revello (23:21). Scarborough Secondary's Danielle Kerr won the open female 6K in 28:59, beating Signal Hill Secondary's Jeresia McEachrane (37:42) and Pentecostal Light and Life student Terry Ann Roberts (39:05) into second and third, respectively. In the boys' under-15 2K race, Roxborough Secondary claimed the top two places, Shaquille Mitchell (7:44) finishing first and Shurneil Bascombe (7:49) second. Bishop's High School student Ackel Carrington (8:09) was third. And in the girls' under-15 2K, unattached Reniece Joseph triumphed in 9:41. Ornella Walker (10:17), of Falcons Athletics Club, finished second, while third spot was copped by another unattached runner, Shineece Andrews (10:37). The second leg of the NAAA Cross Country Series takes place on Saturday, at the Sevilla Golf Course in Couva. Starting time is three p.m. |
