Machel Cedenio will lead the charge for Trinidad and Tobago at the March 29-April 1 Carifta Games, in Nassau, Bahamas. The 17-year-old quartermiler was named by the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) in a team of 44, yesterday. He will compete in the boys' under-20 400 metres and 4x400m events.

At the 2012 Carifta Games, in Bermuda, Cedenio captured silver in the boys' under-20 400.

The T&T team for Carifta 2013 also includes five reigning champions.

Mark London will defend his boys' under-20 800m title, and will also face the starter in the 1,500m. Chelsea James bids to repeat in the girls' under-17 shot put. She is also listed to compete in the discus. And Andwuelle Wright will try to hold on to his boys' under-17 long jump title.

Last year, Jonathan Farinha earned silver in the boys' under-17 200m. He is now an under-20 athlete, and will bid for 200 honours against the older boys. Farinha is also part of the 4x100m and 4x400m relay squads.

Kenejah Williams, the 2012 boys' under-17 discus champion, will do battle in the boys' under-20 discus and shot put events, in Nassau.

Dexter Voisin is the manager of the T&T team for Carifta 2013, while 1964 Olympic 4x400m bronze medallist Edwin Skinner is the head coach.
