Ayodele Taffe starred at the 2013 National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) President's Classic on Saturday night at Hasely Crawford Stadium, sprinting to victory in the Boy's Under-20 100 metres invitational in a good time of 10.52 seconds.

In fact, Taffe's was the fastest time on the night, as Alpha’s Tacuma Sterling clocked 10.71 to win the men’s 100m invitational.

Taffe beat team mate Holland Cabara (10.80) and Micah Ballantyne of Alpha (10.82) into second and third respectively. Sterling got the better of Concorde’s Jonathan Holder (10.73, second) and Simplex’s Jesse Berkley (10.74, third) in a tight finish.

Rebirth’s Michelle-Lee Ahye also had a hot run, streaking to an 11.07 clocking to win the women’s 100m invitational. By 50 metres she was in control and she comfortably crossed the line ahead of Concorde duo Nandelle Cameron (11.42) and Lisa Wickham (11.44), who were second and third in that order.

Abilene Wildcats also shone in the 4x400m relays, taking the men’s Open and Boys Under-17 events over that distance, while Neon Trackers ‘A’ took the women’s equivalent.
