Kewley, Thomas 3rd at CAC

Trinidad Express :: 01.10.2013

Veteran bantamweight bodybuilder Kelton Thomas and local Mr Physique Rockey Kewley both finished third and were Trinidad and Tobago’s best performers at the 41st Central American and Caribbean Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship, held in the Dominican Republic one week ago.

None of the other T&T competitors placed higher than fifth. T&T’s 2013 Junior and senior bodybuilding champion Andy Rodriguez had passport problems and did not go to the Championship

Thomas was third in the Physique class, which was won by Costa Rican Evaristo Cortes Valladares and Rafael Sosa of Dominican Republic, but beat Barbados’ Michael Worrell, Domingo Sarita of Dominican Republic and Guatemala’s Sergio Azael Pec Cab.

Meanwhile, Kewley, son of late Express sports writer David Brewster, trailed Barbados’ Maurice Arthur And Jorge Estrella of Dominican Republic. Bermudian Lynstron Griffith, Hafif James (Barbados) and El Salvadors’ Marlon Alfonso Donado Lopez also competed.

The CAC competition is the highest in the region and treasured because it gives winners their only opportunity to become IFBB professionals. However, none of the T&T athletes made the grade this time around.
