NAAA lauds yesterday’s medallists

THE NATIONAL Association of Athletics Administration (NAAA) yesterday offered a message of congratulations to the men’s 4x400m quartet of Lalonde Gordon, Jarrin Soloman, Renny Quow and Zwede Hewitt, on bringing home the bronze medal from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to a media release issued by public relations officer (PRO) Peter Samuel, “hearty congratulations also go out to Keshorn Walcott in securing silver in the men’s javelin with a throw of 82.67 (metres), and the men’s 4x100m relay team of Keston Bledman, Marc Burns, Rondel Sorrillo and Richard Thompson on their bronze medal run.

The media release continued, “the Commonwealth Games are now over and track and field has secured seven medals (three silver and four bronze) out of eight (earned) at these Games, once again showing their prowess on the world stage.

“We would like to congratulate the entire track and field contingent on a job well done and wish them a safe journey home,” the media release ended.
