Daniel tops Delaware field

Coppin State University’s Deandra Daniel cleared the bar at 1.80 metres to grab gold in the women’s high jump, at the Delaware Open, in Delaware, USA, last Saturday.

University of Delaware junior, Chelsi Campbell finished seventh in the women’s 200 metres in a wind-aided 25.89 seconds.

Sparkle McKnight was in winners’ row in Arkansas. The University of Arkansas senior topped the John McDonnell Invitational women’s 400m hurdles field in 57.96 seconds. Missouri State University’s Kadisha Francois was 17th overall in the women’s 200m in 24.96 and 20th in the 400m in 59.69.

At the Mesa Classic, in Arizona, Central Arizona College freshman Hezekiel Romeo produced a 17.32m throw to strike gold in the men’s shot put. His Central Arizona teammate, Ruebin Walters was 10th in the men’s 200m in 22.06 seconds

Dan-Neil Telesford captured the East Texas Invitational men’s sprint double. Telesford won the 100m dash in a wind-assisted 10.30 seconds, and the 200m in a windy 20.82. In the 200m, his Wiley College teammates, Quinn-Lee Ralph (windy 21.34) and Justin Maloney (21.82) were fourth and fifth, respectively. And in the men’s 400m, Maloney was second in 48.65 seconds, while Ralph was fifth in 50.13.

In Pennsylvania, Steve Waithe finished second in the Bison Outdoor Classic men’s triple jump event. The Pennsylvania State University senior disturbed the sand at 15.34m.

Kyle Greaux clocked a wind-aided 10.40 seconds to finish second in the North Florida Twilight Meet men’s 100m dash. Another T&T athlete, Lalonde Gordon was third in the same race in a windy 10.50.

At the Mason Spring Classic, in Virginia, Andre Marcano finished second in the men’s 100m in 10.69 seconds, and 17th overall in the 200m in 22.20.

At the Utah Spring Classic, Marsha Mark-Baird secured silver in the women’s long jump with a wind-assisted 5.89m leap. She was sixth in the 100m hurdles in a windy 14.34 seconds, and 27th overall in the 200m in 26.99. At the Weber State Open, also in Utah, Mark-Baird landed the spear 39.17m for eighth spot in the women’s javelin.

In North Carolina, Wayne Davis II bagged bronze in the Aggie Invitational men’s 110m hurdles. He got to the line in 13.59 seconds.

At the Hilltopper Relays, in Kentucky, Western Kentucky University sprinter, Peli Alzola finished fourth in the women’s 200m in 24.68 seconds and fifth in the 100m in 11.90.

Kayelle Clarke was fourth in the West Texas A&M Classic women’s 200m event. The New Mexico Junior College freshman clocked a wind-assisted 24.70 seconds.

At the Mt SAC Relays, in California, College of the Sequoias sprinter Ashron Sobers finished sixth in the Community College men’s 100m dash in 10.69.

Tiffin University freshman, Kevin Roberts finished 10th in the Tennessee Relays men’s triple jump event with a 14.40m effort. Roberts was 18th in both the long jump (6.80m) and javelin (44.19m).

At the Hampton Relays, in Virginia, Haysean Cowie-Clarke was 11th overall in the men’s 100m in 10.90 seconds. The Coppin State University junior also competed in the 200m, and was 21st in 22.49.

Trishelle Leacock finished 20th overall in the University of Miami Alumni Invitational women’s 100m dash in 12.22 seconds. And in the 200m, the University of Miami freshman was 21st in a windy 24.91.
