Bishop’s High in Penn Relays final

BISHOP’S HIGH School advanced to today’s final of the High Schools Boys 4x100-metre relay after an impressive showing in yesterday’s heats, on the penultimate day of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, United States.

The quartet of Ako Hislop, CARIFTA medallist Akanni Hislop, Aaron Lewis and Dwight St Hillaire finished first in heat 20, in a time of 42.88 seconds. Their time was the eighth overall, and guaranteed them a place in today’s decider.

Also in the High Schools Boys 4x100m relay, Queen’s Royal College (QRC) qualified for today’s “B” final, as the foursome of Ronaldo Moore, Clement Campbell, Shomari John and Jerod Elcock were second in heat 22, and 15th overall, in 43.40.

Meanwhile, Fatima’s Micaiah Joseph, Xavier Mulugata, Bevon Gordon and Alexei Nicholas were 32nd overall in 43.82.

On today’s agenda, Fatima College - sponsored by the people’s newspaper Newsday, Bishop’s High, QRC, Toco Secondary, Scarborough Secondary and St Benedict’s will feature in the High School Boys 4x400m heats, while Omari Benoit of Bishop’s High will compete in the High School Boys high jump. And Terrel Paul of Toco will participate in the High School Boys triple jump today.

College Men’s 4x100m heats: University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) - Michael Sealey, Le Sean Noel, Adisa Sorillo, Josh Hamilton - 35th overall in 42.50 seconds.

College Men’s 4x200m heats: UTT - Lincoln London, Kirdell McIntosh, Michael Sealey, St Luke Springer - 26th overall in one minute 29.65 seconds.

College Men’s 4x400m heats: UTT - Adisa Sorillo, Kyle Stanly, Ryan Benjamin, St Luke Springer - 49th overall in 3:25.50.

College Women’s 4x200m heats: UTT - Breana Gomes, Shernell Ettienne, Ayoka Cummings, Kechell Douglas - 37th overall in 1:43.66.

High School Boys 4x100m heats: Fatima - Micaiah Joseph, Xavier Mulugata, Bevon Gordon, Alexei Nicholas - 32nd overall in 43.82; Toco Secondary - Terrel Paul, Tyrel Edwards, Troy Richards, Sheldon Solomon - 37th overall in 44.36; El Dorado West Secondary - Trevin Thomas, Jurell Veris, Hakeem Stewart, Rakim Cabie 280th overall in 50.45; Scarborough Secondary - Taffarel Joseph, Johnathan Baker, Nku Henry, Lashawn Roberts - 131st overall in 45.81.

High School Boys 3,000m final: St Benedict’s - Iley Bruce 23rd in 9:36.71.
