Maynard, Celeste-Charles top Public Service 5K

Participants from all of Trinidad and Tobago’s 31 ministries and various agencies came out in their numbers for the Ministry of Public Administration’s Public Service 5km walk/run around the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, yesterday.

The race, which first began five years ago, has been run off almost every year since then to commemorate Public Service day that was on June 23 this year.

Over 2100 runners took part in the event and Brian Maynard from the Ministry of Education and Allana Celeste-Charles from the Service Commission were the respective male and female winners.

Running groups of five who had at least two females also had the chance to win 5000 units from Unit Trust Corporation.
