Nero wins Guyana 10K

Tonya Nero won the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) South American 10K second leg race, in Georgetown, Guyana, last Sunday.

Nero was the class of the women’s field, the Trinidad and Tobago distance runner completing the 10-kilometre course in 37 minutes, 51 seconds. Guyana’s Euleen Josiah-Tanner finished a distant second in 41:03, while another Guyanese, Andrea Foster was third in 42:06.

Peruvians Yerson Orellana and Luis Ostos were first and second, respectively, in the men’s race, clocking 31:08 and 31:09. T&T-based Kenyan Kenneth Rotich got home in 32:18 to secure third spot.
