Cross Country Championships on Sunday

The National Cross Country Championships will be staged on Sunday at the Queen's Park Savannah, opposite Queen's Royal College. Starting time is 2 pm. George Smith is expected to defend his men's eight-kilometre title, and will be challenged for the top spot by Nicholas Landeau

Reigning women's 6K champion Samantha Shukla will have to contend with local distance running queen Tonya Nero. There will also be 6K races for boys' under-20 and under-18 runners, 4K races in the girls' under-20 and under-18 categories, and 2K races in the boys' and girls' under-16 and under-14 age-groups.

On the administrative side of track and field, meanwhile, the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) will stage its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, at the Radisson Hotel in Port of Spain, from 2 pm.
