Cedenio eyeing medals in Rio

Sean Taylor :: Trinidad Express :: 02.01.2016

Machel Cedenio is on the rise. The 20-year-old 400-metre sprinter followed up his 2014 Junior Sportsman of the Year award with the senior equivalent at the gala last Tuesday evening, however one cannot help but feel that this is just the beginning for the young sprinter.

Cedenio was a member of the four-man T&T 4x400m relay team which won silver at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China last August and gold at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada in July. With such a strong 2015 season, the expectation for an Olympic medal this year is understandably high, as T&T have one of their best ever quarter-mile relay teams.
