Trinidad and Tobago's Lalonde Gordon produced a solid 46.05 seconds run to win the men's 400 metres event at the Fastrack National Invite indoor meet in New York, USA, last Friday.

The clocking earned Gordon fifth spot on the 2016 world indoor performance list. The double Olympic bronze medallist is also second on the 300m list at 32.83 seconds, 11th in the 200m (20.77) and 14th in the 500m (1:03.13). Another T&T athlete, Andre Marcano finished fourth in the Fastrack National Invite men's 60m final in 6.78 seconds.

Portious Warren was in record-breaking form at the Northern Arizona Invitational. The Central Arizona College freshman threw the iron ball 16.16 metres to win the women's shot put event, establishing a new National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) indoor standard in the process. The big effort is also a new Central Arizona College record.

Warren also competed in the weigh throw event, finishing fourth with a personal best 17.24m effort.
