More success for Ahye,Thomas, Warren, Lalonde

Lalonde Gordon, Mikel Thomas, Portious Warren and Michelle-Lee Ahye continued to impress, all four Trinidad and Tobago athletes notching indoor victories on the weekend.

Gordon competed at the Fastrack Last Chance meet in New York, USA, on Saturday, the double Olympic bronze medallist clocking 20.76 seconds for victory in the men's 200m.

Thomas was the class of the men's 60m hurdles field. He struck gold in the final, stopping the clock at 7.69 to equal his personal best. And in the men's 60m dash, Andre Marcano finished seventh in the championship race in 6.83 seconds, after clocking 6.81 in the qualifying round.

Warren threw 16.43 metres for women's shot put gold at the Central Arizona College (CAC) Indoor Invitational. The mark improved on her personal best, as well as her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) indoor record and her Central Arizona College standard.

In the weight throw event, Warren bagged bronze with a 16.80m effort.
