T&T fifth on medal table

Recardo Prescott, Onal Mitchell, Che Lara and Jaden St Louis teamed up to earn Trinidad and Tobago's ninth bronze medal at the 2016 Carifta Games, at the National Athletics Stadium here in St George's, Grenada, late on Monday. The Boys Under-18 4x400 metres combination returned a time of three minutes, 15.33 seconds to close off the country's campaign at the 45th edition of the regional junior championships.

T&T ended with three gold medals, two silver and nine bronze for an overall haul of 14 and fifth spot on the table.

Jamaica, winners of the Boys Under-18 4x4 in 3:12.54, emerged as overall champions yet again with 42 gold medals, 28 silver and 16 bronze. Barbados, second in the 4x4 in 3:13.16, were also runners-up on the medal table with six gold, six silver and eight bronze. The Bahamians (five gold, 15 silver, 13 bronze) were third best, with fourth spot going to Grenada (three gold, four silver, six bronze).
