WALCOTT PREPARES TO DEFEND

Trinidad Express :: 06.04.2016

Keshorn Walcott shocked the world in 2012, capturing the Olympic men's javelin title as a 19-year-old. In August, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Trinidad and Tobago athlete will bid to repeat as champion. He is currently in Cuba, along with his coach Ismael Lopez Mastrapa as well as other top T&T throwers Cleopatra Borel and Shakeil Waithe.

Today, in the first of his four "Olympic Diary" instalments, Walcott speaks about his preparations on the Road to Rio.

LAST year, I finished competing on September 11. I then took about five weeks off, but it wasn't much of a downtime because I still had to work on my injured ankle. I still had to do some stuff before I started back training.
