NAAA launches National Athletic Championships

Sean Taylor :: Trinidad Express :: 20.04.2016

The National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) plans to take a different approach to the National Athletics Championships this year, with the intention not only to make improvements on the event, but also to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Hasely Crawford's Olympic gold medal — the country's first ever. The plans were revealed at the launch of the championships at the Radisson Hotel in Port of Spain yesterday.

The commemorative event will be called "The Hasely Crawford Classic", and NAAA president Ephraim Serrette told the media it is currently scheduled for the week following the Championships.
