Thomas leads T&T charge in Barbados

Joyce Thomas led the way as the Trinidad and Tobago track and field team captured ten gold medals and one silver medal at the 15th National Senior Games in Barbados, recently.

Thomas struck gold in the women's 70-74 shot put, discus, long jump and standing long jump events. She established Games records in the shot put and discus, throwing the iron ball 7.95 metres and landing the disc 20.76m. The T&T athlete produced a 2.14m leap in the long jump and jumped 1.51m in the standing long jump.

Thomas received a trophy for being the most outstanding athlete in her age-group.
