Lalonde Gordon outclassed his rivals at the Jim Bush Track & Field Championships in California, USA, on Saturday. The double Olympic bronze medallist stopped the clock at a season's best 45.09 seconds to strike gold in the men's 400 metres event. American Josh Mance was a distant second in 45.94, with third spot going to Guyana's Winston George (46.51).

Gordon's 45.09 clocking earned him 15th spot on the 2016 world outdoor performance list. His Trinidad and Tobago teammate, Machel Cedenio is eighth with the 44.68 seconds run that earned him silver at the IAAF Diamond League meet in Doha, Qatar, last month. Grenada's reigning Olympic champion Kirani James leads the world at 44.08.
