An Olympic Diary - St Fort dewals with injury

Trinidad Express :: 15.06.2016

Khalifa St Fort travelled to Tobago for the very first time, last weekend. The 18-year-old Trinidad and Tobago sprinter made the long trek from her Florida, USA home to the beautiful sister isle to compete at the NAAA NGC/THA National Junior Track and Field Championships. For St Fort and the many other talented T&T teens, the meet provided an opportunity to test the re-laid Dwight Yorke Stadium track.

St Fort was in fine form, bolting down the blue track in 11.53 seconds to easily win her girls' under-20 100 metres first round heat. The 2015 World Youth Championship silver medallist was on a high again, following a couple lows, including last month's cancellation of the Trinidad and Tobago Grand Games.
