Richard "Torpedo" Thompson regained his sub-10 touch at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, in Port of Spain, late yesterday, the triple Olympic silver medallist stopping the clock at 9.97 seconds to reclaim the NAAA NGC/Sagicor National Open Track and Field Championship men's 100 metres title.

The victory was hard-earned, Rondel Sorrillo pushing Thompson all the way to the line with a personal best 9.99 run. Defending champion Keston Bledman picked up bronze in 10.10, ahead of Emmanuel Callender (10.19) and Marcus Duncan (10.25).
