AHYE SMASHES 200M RECORD

Michelle-Lee Ahye and Machel Cedenio blazed the Hasely Crawford Stadium track, yesterday, producing record runs at the NAAA NGC/Sagicor National Open Track and Field Championships.

Ahye was dominant in the women's 200m final, producing a 22.33 seconds national record run to complete the sprint double. The clocking is also a new championship record. Ahye was unchallenged on the straight, finishing well ahead of Semoy Hackett, the silver medallist in 22.61. Reyare Thomas got home in 22.72 to take bronze, ahead of Kelly-Ann Baptiste (22.79).
