ST FORT STRIKES BRONZE

Trinidad and Tobago sprinter in fast run in World U20 final

Khalifa St Fort struck bronze for Trinidad and Tobago at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, yesterday.

The 18-year-old sprinter produced the second fastest time of her career, 11.18 seconds to secure third spot in the final, behind American Candace Hill, the gold medallist in a Championship record 11.07, and Poland's Ewa Swoboda (11.12).

"I felt that I had a great start," said St Fort, after the race, "and I felt that everything was great. I'm so blessed to be able to compete out here injury-free, and I had a wonderful time competing with these wonderful athletes. I just love it. I'm really happy.
