Walcott to donate $15k to Toco school

Newsday :: 15.09.2016

Olympic bronze medallist Keshorn Walcott will donate the $15,000 he received from the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation on Tuesday to a school in his home town of Toco.

His manager Sean Roach, speaking to Newsday yesterday, confirmed that the 2012 Olympic javelin champion has decided to give the money to charity.

During the presentation ceremony on Tuesday at Monte Cristo Park in Sangre Grande, Terry Rondon, Chairman of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation, said the money was for Walcott to do whatever he desires. Rondon had earlier organised a motorcade to honour the 23-year-old who visited seven schools in the space of 2 1/2 hours in the Valencia and Sangre Grande region.
