Atlanta Georgia Relays keen for T&T flavour

Kwame Laurence :: Trinidad Express :: 17.09.2016

The 2016 edition of the Atlanta Georgia Relays (AGR) was a successful one for Trinidad and Tobago athletes. Triple Olympic silver medallist Richard "Torpedo" Thompson, World U20 Championship bronze medallist Khalifa St Fort, Kai Selvon and Sarah Wollaston were all in winners' row. And there was a silver too, Janeil Bellille finishing second in the women 's 400 metres hurdles.

Organisers of the meet are keen to again have a strong T&T representation at the 2017 edition, on May 27 and 28, and will visit the country next month to encourage clubs and schools to send teams to the southeastern American state.

In a press release, this week, Atlanta Georgia Relays co-founder Taneisha Murray outlined the value of the two-day meet.
