Look out for more medal-winning performances, was the word from two-time Paralympic medallist Akeem Stewart, as he and his teammates returned from the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games on Tuesday evening.

The athlete, who won both a gold and a silver medal at the Games, in the javelin and discus respectively, was part of the returning contingent who were received by the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC), the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs (MSYA), the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SPORTT), as well as media, family and other well-wishers.

"Expect great things to come, please God, in the next four years," he told the media.

"I'd really like to thank everyone for supporting me over my journey for the four years. I'm thankful for God for granting me this talent."

Also returning to Trinidad and Tobago was bronze medallist in the women's 100 metres Nyoshia Cain, who was thankful for the opportunity to represent T&T in Rio.
