Cedenio offers advice to Presentation boys

Trinidad Express :: 06.10.2016

Diligence, focus and determination—these were the habits that Trinidad and Tobago 400 metres Olympian Machel Cedenio told students assisted in his reaching the 2016 Rio Olympics and achieving his overall goals.

Cedenio, a Flow Brand Ambassador, visited his alma mater, Presentation College, San Fernando for the Annual Career Day on Wednesday.

Speaking to a packed classroom with other Presentation College past students on sports-related careers, Cedenio, the 2015 Pan American games 400m silver medallist, shared details of how he made the decision to be a track and field athlete and who inspired him.

He also talked about the fact that his relative success so far in track and field has not been his alone, but through the hard work of an entire team who ensures that he is healthy, fit and at the top of his game. Cedenio joined other successful past students of Presentation College, like Attorney General Faris Al Rawi, Minister of Agriculture Clarence Rambharat, and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies Dr Barry Copeland who shared their experiences to assist students from the College and other secondary schools in San Fernando and South Trinidad in deciding on their future career goals.
