Marsha Mark-Baird captured her second gold medal at the 2016 World Masters Track and Field Championships, in Perth, Australia, yesterday. The Trinidad and Tobago athlete topped the women's 40-44 javelin field with a 40.13 metres throw. On Saturday, she had retained her heptathlon title, accumulating 5,390 points in the seven-discipline event.

Mark-Baird led a T&T one-two finish in the javelin, Geraldine George taking silver with a 39.33m effort. Belgium's Anne Hokja (39.18m) bagged bronze.

Men's 35-39 100 metres silver medallist Dwayne Caines remained on course for a second medal in Perth when he advanced to the semi-finals of the 200m. In the opening round, the T&T athlete clocked 22.73 seconds to win heat one. The semis and final will be contested today.
