Nero, Johnson win QPS cross country

Trinidad and Tobago's Tonya Nero and Guyana's Kelvin Johnson were in winners' row at the first leg of the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA) cross country series, at the Queen's Park Savannah (QPS) in Port of Spain, on Sunday.

Nero completed the four-kilometre race in 16 minutes, 35 seconds to top the women's field. Samantha Shukla finished second in 17:08, forcing her T&T compatriot Lindsay Mies (17:48) to settle for third spot.

Johnson clocked 15:06 for victory in the men's race, finishing just ahead of T&T's Collin Pereira (15:08) and Shirvan Baboolal (15:11).
