Marsha Mark-Baird added to her 2016 World Masters Track and Field Championship medal collection with silver in the women's 40-44 80 metres hurdles, in Perth, Australia, yesterday.

The sprint hurdles medal took Mark-Baird's personal tally to three, following her golden performances in the heptathlon and javelin. Her Trinidad and Tobago teammate, Geraldine George earned three medals as well—women's 40-44 javelin silver, shot put silver and discus bronze. And Dwayne Caines secured silver in the men's 35-39 100m dash.

Mark-Baird was back in action after press time, last night, in the women's 40-44 long jump, bidding for a fourth podium finish at the Championships and medal number eight for Team TTO.

In yesterday's sprint hurdles final, Mark-Baird got to the line in a wind-assisted 11.72 seconds to finish second. Gold went to American Rachel Guest in 11.42, while bronze was bagged by Germany's Christine Muller (13.40).

Mark-Baird's first medal at the World Masters meet was captured last Saturday, the 42-year-old athlete completing the seven-discipline heptathlon with 5,390 points. She clocked 12.27 seconds in the 80m hurdles, cleared the bar at 1.54 metres in the high jump, threw 10.21m in the shot put, got home in 28.10 seconds in the 200m, produced a wind-assisted 5.40m leap in the long jump, threw 38.50m in the javelin and returned a time of two minutes, 40.23 seconds in the 800m.

Mark-Baird followed up on Monday with gold in the javelin. She produced a 40.13m effort to lead a one-two T&T finish, George throwing 39.33m to secure silver.
